Air Travel Tips

Plane travel is stressful for any pet, especially if they are traveling in the cargo section. Unless it’s unavoidable, we don’t recommend it. smaller pets that will easily fit in an airline-regulated carrier can be placed under your seat, or the seat in front of you, during the flight. When traveling with animals it is always best to contact your specific airline directly to see what they require to ensure your pet’s safety.

Pets must be transported in a crate or carrier if traveling by airplane. When choosing a crate, purchase one in which your pet can lie down, stand up, sit, and circle around comfortably and avoid crates that are too large as your pet may become injured as a result of excessive movement. And always make sure your pet always wears a collar with an identification tag. Tell every airline employee you come in contact with, on the ground and in the air that you are traveling with a pet in cargo. it’s easy to travel freely and safely with your pets and you enjoy your trip.

Feed your pet a light meal three to four hours before you leave. While you’re on the road, always stop to feed your dog. Don’t feed them in a moving vehicle. This may help avoid pet car sickness.

Pack extra food and water for your pet’s trip.

Grocery and supply stores along your route may not stock the right food, so make sure to pack enough with you to last the length of your trip. Also, pack water as well as refillable containers for replenishing when needed. And don’t forget to pack water and food bowls for serving on the road.

Give training to your pets for traveling

Many pets are comfortable riding around town in your car as these are often quick trips that can sometimes lead to fun. Long road trips, however, can be an entirely different matter. A good way to ensure your trip goes smoothly is to do some practice runs. Take your dog or cat on a longer ride than normal and have them sit where they would during the trip.
